Sarbjit touches the right chord emotionally. There are plenty of scenes which will leave you with a heavy heart, especially the scene where Sarbjit meets his family in jail. Omung Kumar seemed a little lost in the first half but overall the film will win your heart.
Randeep Hooda as Sarbjit is phenomenal! He has put his heart and soul to bring the character alive and believable. He will surely be one of the strongest contenders for the best actor trophy at the awards next year.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is in a never seen before avatar. It was decades back she gave such strong performances. With Sarbjit, she is back as a powerhouse performer and also hints directors that she is back in action.
Richa Chadha is from a different planet of actors where they know nothing less than the best. Minimal dialogues and powerful scenes are superbly performed by her. Darshan Kumaar shines in his limited role. Through Sarbjit, he proves his versatility.
Omung Kumar has succeeded with flying colours in bringing this emotional story on celluloid. Sarbjit, with a great story, engaging screenplay, noteworthy production and costume design, lifts up the film to another level. Editing was good. Songs at times seemed forced but background score was bang on adding the required intensity to the scene.
